As this ceremony went on the words of Desmond T Doss Jr. echoed in my mind to “remember these men any day you stand in the shade of these trees.” I am reminded that many are this very day trying to get into America for just one reason; opportunity. Many of us, myself included get very complacent with this “opportunity.” Least we never forget the price this “opportunity” comes with. Many families have given their sons & daughters for this “opportunity” that we all enjoy today. Make the MOST of your “opportunity!!” It was bought at a very steep price! Desmond T. Doss Christian Academy donated one of the markers for one of the 13 soldiers from the Lynchburg area who lost their lives in the fight against terrorism. The markers for the soldiers can be found on the The Blackwater Creek Bike Trail behind Linkhorne Middle School.
