Since 1985, Desmond T. Doss Christian Academy (DTD) has borne the name of a humble servant of God who, by faith, did great things for the glory of the Lord. Desmond Doss became a medic during WW II because he wanted to save life, not take life. Without regard for his welfare, God provided him with superhuman strength & clarity of mind to save the lives of more than 75 wounded soldiers while under enemy fire. At his core, Desmond loved God & was a faithful Seventh-day Adventist Christian. More than anything, he wanted to honor & obey the Lord by serving his fellow man. Even though what he did brought him worldwide fame, Desmond always remained humble & gave glory and honor to Jesus Christ, his Savior. Desmond Doss Foundation: Carrying Forward the values of the Unlikeliest Hero. Our team at DTD is honored to teach and work at a school that, like Desmond Doss, is rather humble. We share Desmond’s desire to serve God. We consider teaching an important, lifesaving ministry. Our school is known for our family-like atmosphere. We set goals for character development, strong academic standards, individualized attention, logical consequence-discipline, & forming life-long relationships.
