High School Robotics Team attends Technology Convention

DTD_TechnologyEventMembers of the Robotics Team spent their day off from school on Thursday in Charlotte, NC attending SouthTech 2015. The students participated and competed in the Bright Minds Manufacturing Playground program. Teams designed blades for a wind turbine and programmed the specs into a 3-D printer. The blades were then created and tested for their effectiveness. The Patriot team won 2nd place overall. Students were able to visit many different vendors and observe computerized lathes, water jet metal cutting, additive manufacturing, automation, tooling, composites, robotics and accessories , and many other displays. It was a great learning experience for all.
