On October 31, 2012, we visited Smith Mountain Lake to learn about watersheds, water testing and erosion. We chose this field trip to go along with our Pathways book Come Back Salmon, where a 5th grade class cleans up a stream and get the salmon back in their creek after years without them. We got to test the water just like the class in the book!
