We are delighted to report that the Kindergarten, 1st, & 2nd grade field trip to the North Carolina Zoo was a great success!  The NC Zoo is a premier zoological park in our region and was worth the drive to visit. What made the day especially fantastic was the number of parents and family members who came with our group. It is a wonderful thing to have so many loving families who want to be involved in their children’s education. It made the day go so smoothly as everyone toured the zoo in small groups with plenty of supervision!

The weather was great…a little hot later in the day…but all the animals were out and active, except the lions who were sound asleep!sleepy lions...elephant

One of the nicest aspects of this zoo is the way they have the animals in large open habitats that really mirror the animal’s natural habitat in the wild…this makes for a wonderful learning opportunity.

Unfortunately, the polar bear and seal habitats were under renovation, but the rest of the zoo was up and running with so much to see!

As usual, our student’s were on their best behavior!  Ms. Jeannie and Mrs. Thompson could not have been more proud!
