Welcome to Desmond T. Doss Christian Academy!

Desmond T. Doss Christian Academy currently offers Kindergarten through 10th grade. We are accredited by the VA Council for Private Education and the National Council for Private Schools. We have served the Lynchburg area in our current location for 40 years. We are part of the Seventh-day Adventist educational system which is the largest Protestant and second largest Christian educational system in the world. https://adventisteducation.org

In 2023 there were 9,845 SDA institutions in over 100 countries around the world with over 2,177,933 students worldwide. We are owned and operated by the Potomac Conference, headquartered in Staunton, VA. https://www.pcsda.org

Unique to our school:

  • Before-care Enrichment beginning 7:30 a.m. M-F
  • After-care Enrichment after school till 5:30 M-F (Providing homework assistance and more. This program is only open to enrolled Desmond T. Doss students, no age limits apply.)
  • 1st-10th Multigrade Approach – Our teachers are trained to provide multigrade instruction which allows for many benefits including differentiated instruction, multi-level peer grouping, and leadership training.
  • In 2025-26, our K-10 program will incorporate Writer’s Workshop as part of our Language Arts curriculum. Our students’ writing will be published under pen names on our website under the tab: The Write Path.
  • Field Trips – Hands-on learning with family involvement, including overnight trips for older students and visits to VA Safari Park, Smith Mt. Lake Dam, Monticello, and more. Special Events include Family Breakfasts, Field Day, Fall Fest, and an end-of-year trip to King’s Dominion/Bush Gardens.
