Students visit Holiday Lake’s 4-H Camp

Desmond T.Doss Christian Academy 7th & 8th graders spent the day at Holiday Lake’s 4-H Camp. The students took three classes while there; Forest Ecology, Soil Studies, and Native Americans.

Students were engaged in numerous hands-on activities throughout the day at the beautiful camp. The students sunk their hands into the dirt to discover the local decomposers as well as trying to create dirt. Students didn’t have the “time” for the dirt to appear though.

Students used and increment bore to discover the health & age of some of the trees found at the camp. The 7th & 8th graders finished their day by throwing a replica Native American spear and trying to grind corn into corn meal. We found out we need some more practice but is sure was fun trying!
