On September 11, we visited our mayor, Michael Gillette. We were studying government (local, state, and national) in connection with our wonderful Pathways unit based on the book Abe Lincoln’s Hat. Mayor Gillette had the students sitting in the city council seats with the voting lights turned on. We had a mock voting on two kid-friendly scenarios. We learned a lot and had a wonderful day with our wonderful mayor!
