On December 20th we had our annual Christmas program here at Desmond T. Doss Christian Academy. This year the program was called “Christmas Hang-Ups.” Every student had a part in the program. Grades three and up had the pleasure of designing their own costumes as Christmas ornaments!
The director of the program was Ms. Hollie McCombs. The story gave emphasis to the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of Jesus. Nina McCann was the ornament in the box that didn’t “look” the same as the other ornaments, yet had a lesson for the other ornaments to learn about acceptance and love.
We want to give a special “thank you” again to Ms. Hollie for the fabulous job she did as director. Ms. Hollie is a teacher at our sister facility, The Bashful Giraffe Early Learning Center. She is not only a great teacher, but she also has a unique gift in working with kids in the area of music. What a blessing it was to have her as our music director at Christmas-time this past year! Also, we want to thank everyone who volunteered their time to make the program a huge success!
The annual Christmas program here at DTD is a highlight event for us. It is a great opportunity to share with family and friends the meaning of the season, and to showcase our talented young people and their abilities to sing, act, create costumes, design background sets, and play instruments! The best part was that it was all for the Glory of the Lord!
