We recognize the infinite worth of every individual and seek to provide an atmosphere in which your child develops a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, attains a Christ-like character, and achieves a positive self-image.

In addition to that spiritual and emotional excellence, our mission is for your child to achieve genuine academic excellence. We promote this by maintaining the highest quality teachers, offering individualized student attention, and by challenging students to fully use their God-given intellectual capacities.

Our Extra-Curricular Activities for Your Child

Your child will enjoy hands-on projects and field trips that complement and enhance the topics your child is currently learning in the classroom.

We offer competitive cross-country and soccer teams for our 5th through 12th graders. We have a gymnastics program for all ages, and during the winter season, we take several skiing trips to Wintergreen.

In addition, your child will be encouraged to take an active interest in making the community a better place in which to live. Older students participate in community-service field trips several times throughout the school year to further the development of a Christ-like servant attitude.

Healthful Cooking Weekend

We are holding a weekend event where you can learn about healthy cooking in ways you might not have tried before. The details and times of this event will be sent home with your student before the event.

Fall Week of Prayer
Oct 23 – Oct 27 all-day

Twice a year, we have a specific focus on a full week of prayer together. We ask that each of you participate in praying each day with your student and asking them about specific prayer requests that have been presented at school that week.

Monday Casual Days

Every Monday will be casual day this year.  The kids can wear appropriate t-shirts, jeans, etc. on these days.

Friday Dress-up Days

For this school year, every Friday will be a “dressier” or “uniform” day.  This means that it is uniform dress or better. There will be more details provided.

Please note that ALL TUESDAYS THROUGH THURSDAYS are uniform days, except when a special casual day is earned. Details about earning extra casual days will be provided.

Pizza Day
Oct 27 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Once a month, we have pizza day luncheons available.  Sign-up sheets will be sent home the week of the Pizza Day luncheon for you to sign up your student if you choose to get them the pizza lunch.

SWOP CHURCH! @ Lynchburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church
Oct 28 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Formerly known as Education Sabbath, on our SWOP church day, we invite all of the DTD students to come and be a part of our Sabbath service. The students will sing, pray and participate in the service. All families are invited to the service. Come enjoy a time of worshipping the Lord together.
